<h2 id="accessing-the-compare-profiles-page">Accessing the Compare Profiles Page</h2>
<p>To access the Compare Profiles Page:<br>
<strong>Step 1:</strong> From any page in the app, locate the &#x201C;+New&#x201D; button in the navigation bar.<br>
<strong>Step 2:</strong> A drop down-menu will  appear. Select <strong>&#x201C;Compare Profiles&#x201D;</strong> .</p>

<p>The profile comparison process follows a step-by-step flow to make it easier to select and review multiple profiles.</p>
<p><strong>Step 1: Select a Primary Profile</strong><br>
On the first page, you&#x2019;ll be prompted to select your primary profile.</p>
<p>You can choose from:</p>
<ul>
<li>Profiles created within your organizations</li>
<li>Profiles available in the Organizations tab that includes public profiles shared across the SkillsEngine platform</li>
<li>A newly generated profile using the Generate Skills tool by a simple text or uploading a document- such as a resume, job post, or course description- to automatically convert it into a profile.</li>
</ul>
<p>If you create a new profile during this step, you will have the option to save the profile to your account or use it only for the comparison.</p>
<p><strong>Step 2: Select Secondary Profiles</strong></p>
<p>After selecting a primary profile, the next screen will prompt you to choose one or more secondary profiles for comparison. You can include as many profiles as you&#x2019;d like.</p>
<p>Secondary profiles can come from:</p>
<ul>
<li>Your organizations</li>
<li>Public profiles available under the Organizations tab</li>
<li>A newly generated profile using the Generate Skills tool</li>
</ul>
<p>Once two or more profiles are selected, click the <strong>&#x201C;Compare Profiles&#x201D;</strong> button in the top-right corner to generate the comparison. From there, you will be taken to the Compare Results Page, where you can click &quot;Open&quot; on any comparison to view the full report.</p>

<p>At the top of the <strong>Compare Results Page</strong>, you&#x2019;ll see a match overview showing the percentage of skills in the primary profile that are also found in the secondary profile. This section also displays a match badge indicating the level of alignment: Low Match, Medium Match, or High Match.</p>

<p>This section highlights the skills present in the occupation but missing from the curriculum or credential profiles, helping educators and program designers identify opportunities to better align learning outcomes with workforce needs.</p>

<p>If needed, you can export the comparison data for further review or sharing.</p>
<p>Simply click the Export button at the top of the compare report to download the full data set as a CSV file onto your computer.</p>
<p>In addition, download buttons are available throughout the report, allowing you to export specific sections&#x2014;such as shared skills, unique skills, or all skills&#x2014;individually as CSV files.</p>

<p>If you need to remove several profiles at once, you can use the bulk delete option.</p>
<p>Step 1: From the Profiles page, use the checkboxes to select the profiles you want to delete.</p>
<p>Step 2: Click the Trash Can icon at the top of the page.</p>
<p>Step 3: Confirm the deletion when prompted.</p>
<p><em>Important: Once you delete profiles, the action is permanent and cannot be undone.</em></p>

<p>Profile permissions determine what level of access each user has to the profiles within your organization.</p>
<ul>
<li>Editor - Have access to view and edit the profiles</li>
<li>Collaborator &#x2013; Can view and edit their own profiles and view any profiles in their organization</li>
<li>Viewer &#x2013; Typically have view-only access to shared profiles</li>
</ul>
<p>Permissions for individual profiles can be adjusted through the Manage Permissions section of a profile accessed with the 3 dot menu top right of the profiles page.</p>

This document provides an overview for how to complete and submit one of these surveys.</p><figure class="kg-card kg-embed-card"><iframe width="200" height="150" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dqHUyfshvwE?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen title="How to Give Feedback on a Profile"></iframe></figure><p>To begin feedback on a profile you have been invited to review, click on the link provided by the profile owner. If you are not already logged into SkillsEngine, you will be prompted to sign-in or create a free account before you can enter the feedback session.</p>
<p>To create an account, you&apos;ll need to either enter your email address and create a password or register using a Google account.</p>
<p><em>Note: This step is required in order to protect the security and integrity of our data library.</em></p>

<p><strong>Step 1:</strong> When you enter the validation session via the shared link, you&apos;ll see topline information for the profile you are validating on the left side of the page. This information includes the profile&apos;s title, description, and the skill sets under review with the total number of skills within each.</p>

You will also be required to indicate your role as a reviewer of this profile. This information will be used to help the profile owner better understand and analyze the review data. To start the review, click the yellow &#x201C;Get Started&#x201D; button.</p>

Click on the show keyboard shortcuts toggle to reveal numerical shortcuts for each of the ratings described above. Click on the skill sets listed in the left panel to jump to a different section of the review.</p>

Once you confirm that you want to end the session, you will be redirected to the SkillsEngine home page.</p>

<li>Once a user has hit &#x201C;Yes, I&#x2019;m sure&#x201D; in the modal shown above, their responses are considered final and they will no longer be able to access the survey.</li>
<li>The owner(s) of a feedback session can end the survey session whenever they would like.</li>
</ul>
<p><em>Note: A profile owner or editor cannot edit a profile while a Feedback Session is active.</em></p>

We&#x2019;ve also continued to improve profile organization with new folder functionality, clarified language in key areas, and made several bug fixes and usability enhancements across the platform.</p>
<h3 id="new-compare-flow-and-report">New Compare Flow and Report:</h3>
<p>We&#x2019;ve redesigned the Compare tool to make profile-to-profile comparisons more flexible and insightful:</p>
<ul>
<li>You can now convert text to skills directly within the Compare flow, creating a temporary or saved profile on the fly.</li>
<li>The updated Compare report gives you a clearer breakdown of the overlaps and gaps between the profiles. You&#x2019;ll also find four different data download options, so you can choose the level of detail that works best for your needs.</li>
<li>We&#x2019;ve added new entry points to Compare on the Insights tab. These vary based on profile type and help clarify how you can use comparison in different contexts.</li>
</ul>

<p>Folders on the Profiles page just got more useful:</p>
<ul>
<li>You can now build a profile from within a folder, and it will stay in that folder.</li>
<li>Profiles inside folders are now searchable via the global search bar on the Profiles page.</li>
<li>Profiles can now be moved out of folders and back into the full profiles list.</li>
<li>Folders can be renamed using the three-dot menu inside the folder.</li>
<li>Folders are now included in bulk delete actions for Admins only.</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="bug-fixes-ui-improvements">Bug Fixes &amp; UI Improvements:</h3>
<ul>
<li>While enhancing skills on a profile, the loading icons now appear only on skill sets that include work activities or knowledges&#x2014;since those are the only types enhanced in that flow.</li>
<li>Hotkeys for survey navigation are now always enabled during a feedback session.</li>
<li>Share Modal: Fixed issues with link length and mobile responsiveness.</li>
<li>Updated the &#x201C;Discover Skills&#x201D; section on a profile to &#x201C;Add Skill Sets&#x201D; for better clarity.</li>
<li>Added a new column on the Profiles page to indicate whether a profile has an active feedback session.</li>
<li>The layout has been refreshed to match our current design standards and improve mobile usability.</li>
<li>Fixed an issue with profile ordering&#x2014;profiles on the main Profiles page are now correctly sorted by date created.</li>
