Job Profile Refresh

A Refresh is signaled when one or more job profile elements (DWAs, Knowledges, Tools, Soft Skills) is in need of a review and update or is absent in a previous job profile. For example, a Refresh might be required if the Tools for a job have changed dramatically or were not included in a previous job profile. This would typically require a review of legacy data to determine changes to an element or additions of an entire list of an element type. Tools and Knowledge usually require four hours of review and modification each, and if the total number of hours exceeds eight for a review, that would signal the need for a full or partial job profile enhancement.

Job Profile Clean-Up

This occurs when one or more elements needs simple modifications, additions, or deletions. For example, a client is looking for new activities or duties that the role may perform or a change in the role requires no more than a 25% addition or modification to an element. There is still legacy data review, but it is not as comprehensive (and the client may be furnishing some of the changes that need to be incorporated into the profile).

New Job Profile Creation

This includes reviewing desired content of a new job profile that does not exist or is significantly different from an existing job profile. Commonly, profiles being created are emerging or not well defined in the economy and as such require considerable research, definition of boundaries, location of any quality legacy data (if it exists), creation of new Work Activities, new Knowledges, and/or new Tools.
